Campaign for clean drinking water

Thoughts from Edilola in Ethiopia

I saw a young boy sitting some distance away, obviously deep in thought about something. Through my Ethiopian colleague, I asked the boy what he was thinking about. And he replied, ‘Perhaps this means my parents will now allow me to start school. My mom has to walk to the river to get water, and it takes her about four hours every day, so I have to stay home and take care of my younger siblings. Now it will take her only five minutes to get water. Now my parents cannot refuse to allow me to go to school! I have a future!

Testimonials about International Aid Services (IAS)

Johan Lilja - I think of a strong expertise in water and sanitation, and also of entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm. IAS is one of Läkarmissionens’ closest partners and has a great ability to implement projects and humanitarian interventions in areas that few others have the courage to do. We see IAS as a plough into new areas where we otherwise would not been able to enter.

(Johan Lilja, CEO of Läkarmissionen)

Tommy Larsson - When I think of IAS, I think of someone who walks the extra mile to make a difference for someone else. To cooperate with IAS feels safe and we have many times with our own eyes seen the wonderful work being done and what a huge difference the various projects leads to in the life of individuals.

I think of IAS who walks the extra mile to make a difference for someone else

(Tommy Larsson, CEO of Åkerströms & former CEO of Mockfjärds)

Anders Malmstigen - For me IAS is an exciting and dynamic organization. Since it became a member of SMC in 2004, I have been privileged to get to know them both as an organization in Sweden, but primarily on the basis of all the work in which they are involved in many different countries. A characteristic thing is that the organization is changing and expanding. There is a strong motivation to move forward and do a greater and better work. Their motivation is to see people and societies change. SMC appreciates the cooperation with IAS and during the last year we have increased our cooperation in the humanitarian field.

A characteristic thing is that IAS is changing and expanding

Lina Gebäck

The project trip with IAS to Kenya showed me that our support actually reaches people
